New candidate enters Salem-Keizer School Board race
Cynthia Richardson will run against anti-transgender activist Casity Troutt for the Zone #2 Director position
According to Oregon campaign finance data, Salem-Keizer School District Director of Student Equity Access and Advancement Cynthia Richardson will run for school board in Zone #2.
Longtime SKSD leader, Richardson is no stranger to the district, parents & students
Richardson has worked in public schools for more than two decades here in Oregon, and previously in Texas & Nebraska. Most recently, Richardson left her role as Principal at North Salem High School to accept the Director of Student Equity Access and Advancement position with the district.
Richardson filed campaign finance paperwork with Oregon effective 2/26/2023 and intends to run for the Zone #2 position in the May 2023 school board elections.
Richardson runs to replace current School Board Director Marty Heyen, who chose not to run again. The other candidate for this position is book banning, anti-transgender activist & right-wing extremist Casity Troutt.
Prior to her Principal role at North Salem High School, Richardson was Principal at both MacKay High School and Adam Stephens Middle School.
