Good thing I refuse to work. Instead i am living my best life on my own terms and my money is 1000% my money. I refuse to be a slave to the government. 28 million dollars to find the police AGAIN.. didn’t y’all just get suckered/scammed in to paying for that police station that cost,,,,what $82 million I believe was the final number according to the statesman journal? Now they want more to pay the police. From where I am standing and looking in at y’all,, sure looks a lot like they are just hustling everything they want and y’all just hand it over. They want new fitness equipment and say they need it and what happens they tell you there gonna take it and you basically say oh you can just have it no worries. Then come tax season they are taking even more but since they are giving a small small small portion back it makes everything right again. But trust and believe the ONLY reason anybody still receives a return at all is because they are not dumb and they know that they are going to get it all right back and by doing so they are killing two birds with one stone. Cause everyone knows that there has to be money going out in to the economy in order for money to come back in. So if they take it all and leave you with nothing then there won’t because anything coming in so they make it to where we all have barely enough to pay our bills with just a small amount left over to spend or save. But I’m the end they will take it all. Look at out homeless population and how quickly the numbers keep rising. 25 years ago when I was growing up here in Salem Oregon we didn’t have a homeless problem we didn’t have the crime rate we have now we’ve always had a drug issue but never did we ever see it like we do today. Maybe if we tried to use the money for what it was initially intended we for to begin with then we would begin to see results. Don’t tell me I’m wrong either because where do you think the new Marion County parole and probation center got the money to build their fancy new building? Anyone? I’ll wait… nah I’ll just tell you cause it’s faster and I know y’all hit jobs to get back to so you can pay them taxes. They used money that was granted to pay for rehabilitation services for DOC inmates that were soon to be integrating back into the community and instead the money was used to build another oversized place for cops to hang out when they should be out patrolling the city like they are paid to do. And left the inmates with the saddest excuse of “rehab services” because it cost them nothing Bridgeway donated their services free of charge and so the 440,000 dollars they got for that went to that building and also the roughly 150,000 they were paid to house DOC inmates in there beds also went towards this building. They preferred to build a building for themselves rather then try and find a solution the Oregon’s high recidivism rates. I guess that job security for them and with the benefits they bring in who’s to blame them. They get paid to put people in prison and keep them there but taxpayers have to pay for The inmates to be incarcerated. It’s all just a scam and like I said thank GOD I’m not stuck like most people these.

If put to the voters this tax would pass. Voters just approved the largest bond package ever that surpassed libraries, fire department and housing for the homeless. Measures 5 and 50 were based on greed. Many of those speaking out at the meeting last night were disingenuous at best. It was greed. I recognized wealthy people claiming the hardship of their employees. Give me a break. They cry about the homeless on the streets, complaining about crime and then don’t want to pay the cost. If your employees need more money, pay them better. Businesses don’t pay taxes, their customers pay.

Put that energy into getting the Legislature to pay for their services they use. Get Salem Health to donate to helping keep homeless people healthy with housing first. That so called non-profit is rich and pays their executives way too much.

We need tax reform so people need to work on fixing the problem not complaining when a volunteer council tries to fix it and keep the public safe.
