Hey readers! Part of the reason I created Salem-Keizer Proletariat was to make local journalism more accessible to the community.
That happens through the types of stories covered in SKP.
The tone of reporting is meant to be more relaxed and conversational, with the goal of creating accessible content.
The tools SKP builds to translate dense government data into simpler tools and insight that connect with a reader’s lived experience.
Now we’re going to experiment with different formats. Here’s the idea.
You. Me. YouTube. Nintendo Switch.
Livestreaming video game play is not new. But this might be the first Oregon video game-based, live stream news program.
So, what does that actually mean? I play a video game and talk about local issues and news. You can use the chat function to send questions; comments; or mockery.
All you have to do is head to the SKP YouTube channel at 7 p.m. Thursday night (9/7). You can just show up to watch. Or harass me. Or mock my video game talents. I’m…decent. But not amazing.
